Banned Books on the Bookshelf

Updated: Feb 15, 2022

I've updated the banned books on my ABSR Banned, Burned and Challenged books, bookshelf.

  1. Go Ask Alice (Anonymous) #V

  2. The Handmaid's Tale (Atwood) #V

  3. Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl (Frank) #V

  4. Revolutionary Voices: A Multicultural Queer Youth Anthology (Sonnie) #V

  5. The Scarlet Letter (Hawthorne) #V

  6. The Color Purple (Walker) #V

  7. A Light in the Attic (Silverstein) #V

  8. A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo (Twiss) #V

  9. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Twain) #V

  10. Twelfth Night (Shakespeare)

  11. Tell Tale Heart (Poe) #V

  12. The Outsiders (Hinton) #V

  13. A Good Kind of Trouble (Ramée) #V

  14. Ground Zero: A Novel of 9/11 (Gratz) #V

  15. Slaughterhouse-Five (Vonnegut ) #V

  16. 1984 (Orwell) #V

  17. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret (Blume) #V

I recently purchased the last four on the list, and will continue. To me, it is shocking that these books are on a banned list. Great literature, stories that need to be shared, stories that need to be told so people who may feel "different" don't have to feel alone.

There will be new books added all the time.
