The Grey Forest by Maureen Griswold

Writer: ABSRABSR

4 Stars Compelling Collection

This was a good collection of the author's work. Short stories are harder to write than longer ones, as they need to fit a lot of information, but not too much, in a story and it needs to conclude properly. Griswold did that with this

work. My favorite of the collection was Soulmates. There was something how the words came together and became reflective like her own eyes, the connection between him and her. It was truly amazing. "He opened his eyes, found and gazed up at her face, found her eyes. They were aged, saddened eyes, dulled blue-grey, the skin surrounding them thinned myriads of wrinkles. He rested his gaze there, waited for her eyes to come to his."
