The Watchman's Grace by Craig Johnson

4 Stars

Compelling.

I love a good historical fiction, and this one was very interesting. Johnson pens a good story, and it brings to life the lives of the characters from a point in time where not everything was grand. From Ireland to North American, the times were a struggle and also part of new discoveries. The hard subject of the slave trade and how it moves the reader, and the author. You can almost feel the depth of the author's words on the page, what is written and what is unwritten. The Watchman's Grace is a story that moves the reader. It's powerful and compelling. I look forward to more stories from this new author.
