It Came from the Basement by M. R. Kessell

Shivering good story

I enjoyed this interesting story and its illustrations. I was given this book as a gift, in paperback form from the author. I say that because I think I enjoyed the experience of reading it as a paperback. It's written in rhyme and prose, and tells a story of the monster that comes from the basement. My favorite line was "it came from the basement a ghoul hungry and pale, it sized up our craniums, and then it chose Dale." It's a quick read story, but this reader enjoyed looking at the illustrations as much as the text. The author even shared the sketches that made up the story. I look forward to more stories from this new author.
