What a wonderful story in FAT: the other F word by Dan Radlauer. I have fast become a big fan of Radlauer. I've never read anything by this author before. I really thought the premise was somewhat unique. It's an interesting story about being fat. There is no other word that heavy people see themselves as, and there are a lot of words out there, but plain and simple, we feel fat. People are fat shamed all of the time, even if they just have one extra chin, or just a bulging belly. People who are heavy, know that they're heavy and don't need to be told they are. Anyway, that is why I liked this story. It's about the two sides of Quincy, the regular person that goes to school, and the one that is an actor because of his size. The story had so many layers, and it wasn't just how people treated or looked at Quincy, but how he felt about himself. It was about self-discovery, and I must say Radlauer did a wonderful job at telling this story, and I'm glad I had the honor of reading it. This author is a great storyteller. The story brings the reader on a superb journey. This story was very unpredictable. This is a totally inspirational title, and at times, humorous. FAT: the other F word is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.
