An amazing and remarkable life
Burford pens Cicely Tyson's life story, and it is truly amazing. I am a huge fan of Cicely Tyson, and she is, uh, was more wonderful and went through so much in her life time than I ever knew. There were her acting appearances when I didn't realize she was in the movie or even show. Star of stage, big screen and small screen, plus getting so many awards. She was truly an inspiring woman, and the way she told her story and the author put it together, was just wonderful. I can't say enough about the late Cicely Tyson, who passed away, two days after this book was published at the age of 96. It was an uplifting story, and I'm so glad I read it. The After Show with McKensie Stewart & Amy Shannon did a show dedicated to her and will do future shows as well about the great Cicely Tyson. Just as I Am: A Memoir is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.
