Just when life seems perfect...
Hager pens a sweet and realistic story in Competing with the Star. This story follows up from the book Next Door to a Star, which I read and liked. Poor Hadley, she is still living next door to a star, Simone Hendrickson, a TV star. Hadley has been living under her shadow and had been outcasted. Now, it's different for her, but is it really? It's a really good story about teenage (girl) angst and dealing with a he said/she said when it comes down to her boyfriend versus Simone. It is a very well-written story, and I enjoyed it. If you love a good realistic teenage romance, this book should be next on your list. It's a good story to follow and reminds people of how brutal teenage life can be, especially if we tried to block that out of our mind. Competing with the Star is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author.
