Sip Lake by Joe Basara

5 Stars

Magnificent read!

Basara pens an intriguing and thrilling story in Sip Lake. I have read work from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. Once again, we're here at Cypress Lake, and of course, it's not what it seems to be. The story is told from Owen's perspective, and not only is it interesting, and almost hard to believe (I said almost), it's a wonder, as he becomes entranced with the painting that is now his very own "coloring" book. This author has a great imagination and I'm glad it's being shared with stories. Seeing isn't just believing, but it's feeling and hearing as well. Owen meets a grand cast of characters, and him seeing things is just a wonder, something he can use, even if he is quite unsure how to. Welcome to 1977 at Cypress Lake. Owen's story is a very interesting one. This is a magnificent story, kept this reader turning the pages. A definite attention grabber, so much I couldn't put it down. It's a great story to follow and try to figure out what will happen next. This author's characters develop and interacts well with the other characters. The best part of the story is that it is totally unpredictable. Sip Lake is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author.
