A well-told story!
Hardie pens a really good story in The Altered. It's listed as a sequel in a series, namely book 2 in "Them" series. I don't feel like I've missed anything by not reading the first book, "Them" but that seems like a book I'd also want to read. This is the first work of Hardie's I've read, and it was a read that I could keep up with. I liked how the plot unfolded, and it had many different dimensions. It's an exciting story with great characters, though my favorite was Joshua. I think the characters develop throughout the story, as they need to deal with all the obstacles they face, especially in this new world. There is something about this story that makes a reader like me take notice, and I enjoyed it. I'm sure Hardie has a lot more stories that I'd like to read. I look forward to reading more by this author.
