Good Story
Yan pens an interesting superhero slash detective story in The Hangman's Owl. I haven't read anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed this work. The characters were unique and had a hint of magic. There is a great chemistry between the characters, and a depth that makes them realistic and flawed, showing that not all superheroes are perfect, but they are definitely unique and there is a reason they are called superheroes, even in the darkness of the world. This was a well-written story. I'm not a novice when it comes to the steampunk genre, and this one definitely fit. It's a great story to follow, with the unexpected around every corner. I look forward to reading more by this author. This book is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.
