The Land That Shivers by Ebele Ufondu

5 Stars

A sad, well-written story

Ufondu pens a heartbreaking and heartfelt story in The Land That Shivers. The words written, are written beautifully, as it describes and tells a story of human survival. The story is based on true events, and tells the story of Asa, and his family. It's a very powerful, raw read, and emotionally charged. There were times when I just had to set the book down before being able to finish reading it. Asa is one of those characters that this reader won't forget, and his struggle to help his family and become its provider after a tragic accident is just part of the emotional roller coaster of this book. This is the first book of Ufondu's that I've read, but it won't be the last. I look forward to reading more by this author.
