Valedictorian of the Bottom-Feeders by James F. Miller II

5 Stars

Passionate misery!

This collection of poetry and innovative thinking by James F. Miller II is a magnetic work of words. Miller always has a way with words, the connection of life and tragedy, hopelessness, mixed with light and darkness. The title is just the beginning for this imaginative truth of words, when life takes a downward spiral, hitting bottom, and sometimes staying there. It's one of those collections you won't soon forget. One of my favorite is "a pause (a pulse)" where he writes, "is this the end or just the beginning? just like the rememdy either are a trigger itched to become pulled, sit here and cry like that man right before his suicide or homicide..." Extremely powerful and raw words, painting an accurate picture of life. I look forward to reading more by this author. This book is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.
