Author Interview: Gary Starta

Q: In one sentence, tell me something that describes you as a person?

Dedicated and driven, I’m destined to follow my passion!

Q: How many books have you written? How many of those are published?

Sixteen, with a dozen published so far.

Q: Do you have an upcoming release?

Yes, it will be book two of the Camden Investigations. I hope readers will take the opportunity to pick up Coalescence, the first book in the series!

Q: If you could “create” your own genre of what you write, what would you call your books?

Sci-Life I think all the theories of sci-fi will eventually be proven so it is reality fiction, stories that will help us understand our place in the universe and our meaning in it.

Q: Without quoting your back cover synopsis, tell me about the last book you published.

That would be Dead Market. A vice cop finds himself on the other side of the fence when a drug company unleashes a virus designed to reanimate the dead. With only his will to remain human and some little blue pills, Derek Burnham teams with a friend and another reanimate to help stop Big Pharma from creating a Dead Market. That was just made up, different from the synopsis on the cover. lol

Q: Tell me something about yourself that is separate from writing.

A huge fan of music with eclectic tastes ranging from jazz to electronica to hard rock.

Q: Who is your favorite Author?

Wow! Hard. How about Dean Koontz.

Q: When writing, do you have a system or something you plan, or do you just write?

I have a system as to when I allot my time to write. Other than that, it’s up to the cosmos, waves of inspiration and/or whatever chemicals in my brain dream up.

Q: Why do you write?

Because it is what I was meant to do. At least on this planet.

Q: Any final thoughts that you want to give to your fans or even future authors?

I would like readers to know I write as a reader, attempting to give them non-formulaic books with a lot of heart and soul. I never want to repeat myself and one fan gave me the biggest compliment when she said my writing style changes from book to book. It is for this reader enjoyment that I will continue writing as long as I am able.
