Q: In one sentence, tell me something that describes you as a person?
I am considerate, dedicated, thorough, fair-minded, and (occasionally) funny.
Q: How many books have you written? How many of those are published?
I have published seven novels since February 2012 and plan to release the eighth this spring.
Q: Do you have an upcoming release? If yes, tell me the title and impending release date.
Indiana Belle, the third novel in the American Journey time travel series, will be out by May 2016.
Q: If you could “create” your own genre of what you write, what would you call your books?
That's a great question because my books don't fit neatly into any category. Twentieth-century time-travel romances would probably be most appropriate.
Q: Without quoting your back cover synopsis, tell me about the last book you published.
Mercer Street, the second novel in the American journey series, follows three Chicago women – grandma, mom, and college daughter – back in time to 1938 Princeton, New Jersey. Once there, the women mix it up with their ancestors, Albert Einstein, college students, and a German diplomatic family.
Q: Tell me something about yourself that is separate from writing.
I like to make homemade beer and go for long walks with the dog.
Q: Who is your favorite Author?
The answer has changed over the years. Ken Follett is my favorite now.
Q: What is the last book that you read? (Not counting anything you wrote)
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
Q: When writing, do you have a system or something you plan, or do you just write?
I create a detailed outline, complete with chapter summaries.
Q: Why do you write?
I write mostly to release the stories that build up in my head. I find it very therapeutic.
Q: Any final thoughts that you want to give to your fans or even future authors?
Write what you want to write and not what someone tells you to write. Stick with it, put in the time, seek feedback, and never quit. Always move forward.
