Q: In one sentence, tell me something that describes you as a person?

A: Optimistic

Q: How many books have you written? How many of those are published?

A:11 plus 1 co-written with my son, all published

Q: Do you have an upcoming release? If yes, tell me the title and impending release date.

A: I have just published, The Knight’s Tale

Q: Tell me about how you come up with your titles for your stories. Do you create the title before or after you write the book, and does it ever change from the initial title?

A: I have several writing projects in hand: The main one being my Island of Serenity Series. For this, there are some books that are the islands; Survival, Pleasure, Esteem …, these titles are fixed in advance, although if an ‘island’ runs over several books, I will add a sub-title to describe it.

For my last book, The Island of Esteem pt1, The Knight’s Tale’, the title came after I had finished it, however, the title for Pt 2, is already decided.

The title can appear at any point of the writing process, and can change

Q: Out of all your characters in all of your books, who/what (sometimes a setting can also be an important “character”) do you think is the most interesting and why?

A: That’s an easy one; the main character of the Serenity series, ‘Faron’ is my main ‘man’, his journey is the backbone of all the stories, and his progressionS, from ‘rich kid’ to destroyed person, and from destroyed person to reborn guy, are what makes the books most interesting.

Q: If you could “create” your own genre of what you write, what would you call your books?

A:Inspirational fantasy

Q: Without quoting your back cover synopsis, tell me about the last book you published.

A: Faron, finds himself in the body of Sir Lancelot, he is on the ‘island of esteem’, where he is to learn about self-appreciation.

Unfortunately, Lancelot is a flawed hero.

We get to follow Lancelot through many of the important points of his life, but with the unique ability to reflect and comment of his choices and actions.

This is, at the same time; a personal quest, romantic adventure, complex mystery and magical journey.

Q: Tell me something about yourself that is separate from writing.

A:I am a husband and father, psychologist, state registered psychotherapist, also trained in; clinical hypnosis, EMDR, Equine Assisted Therapy, (using horses), and shamanism.

Q: Who is your favorite Author?

A:Don’t have one.

Q: What is the last book that you read? (Not counting anything you wrote)

A:The last Harry Potter, not had time to read anything since. (Didn’t much like it either).

Q: When writing, do you have a system or something you plan, or do you just write?

A: I always have some sort of plan of what I am about to write, however, depending on the complexity of the plotting, the planning might range from vaguely general to fairly detailed.

Q: Why do you write?

A:Because my Muse insists!!!

Q: Do you read your own work a lot? If so, what does it do for you?

A: Other than for proofing, not that much. When I do re-read my books, it tends to excite me to write more.

Q: What is your favorite type of music? Is there one genre (or song, band etc...) that brings out your creativeness more than others?

A:I like a wide range of music; some classical, new-age, soft rock, easy pop, jazz. However, it isn’t music that brings out my creativity, it just helps to not get too bored when writing.

Q: As an author, I find that the hardest thing to write (for me) is the synopsis that will be on the back cover or book’s description. When you write, what is the hardest line to write, the first line, the last line or the synopsis for the book?

A: I’d go for the synopsis.

Q: Any final thoughts that you want to give to your fans or even future authors?

A: ‘Writing is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.’ If you aim to be writer, get ready to work! (You’ll feel much better after it’s out).
