Showcase: Sherry Ostroff

Kyra Robinov nominated Sherry Ostroff as an Indie Author who deserves appreciation and acknowledgement of his/her work. I am pleased to present this author a showcase blog post.

Author Bio:

Sherry V. Ostroff, originally from Philadelphia, earned a Bachelor’s in education from Temple University and a Master’s in history from Millersville University. Retired from teaching, Ostroff devotes her time to her family, writing, and traveling around the world. She lives with her high school sweetheart in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Ostroff has independently published The Lucky One.

Books:

The author is currently working on a new book, a historical novel, called On The Edge of A Precipice. The story opens with Hanna, a recent college grad, coming to terms with her father’s unexpected death on 9-11. As his only heir, she closes out his safe deposit box and finds a mysterious skeleton key. Hanna discovers it is connected to a 300 year old security box at a bank in Edinburgh. She rushes off to Scotland and along the way meets the dashing Alec Grant, a young history professor. The attraction is immediate and mutual, and they join forces to unravel the clues of one of Scotland’s greatest tragedies.

The Lucky One: A Memoir of Life, Loss and Love in Eastern Europe: The Lucky One is an annotated memoir based on the original manuscript written by the author’s mother, Ita Pogrebiski. Like a gifted storyteller, Ita relates her scary, poignant and surprisingly funny childhood in Eastern Europe of the 1920’s. Ostroff adds the cultural and historical background to give context to her mother’s tale.
