Synopsis: If you've ever wanted to read someone's mind, this book is your opportunity. More than fifty profound and honest yet beautifully written poems about life, death, and everything in between.

Moody and melancholy. Sometimes sensual. Sometimes happy and contented. Always honest and thought-provoking.

Explore with the poet what it is to be human: to love, to celebrate, to grieve, to feel pain, and to overcome, through powerful images of fallenness, hope and redemption.

Excerpt:

Phoenix

Hateful words, volatile like gasoline, Coaxed the spark into crackling fire, Where their friendship, trust and loyalty Lay sacrificed on the funeral pyre. She made no effort to extinguish The impromptu conflagration, Instead, she chose to let him wallow In his wilful devastation. She blew a mournful farewell kiss - An ember flared and bit her skin, She exploded into roaring flames Fuelled by the hurt she felt within. Incandescent, all-consuming, The blustery fire raged and roared Until naught was left of heart or mind That had him loved so well before. Then from among the dark debris, The fragile ashes and blackened coals - Of all his hatred had destroyed, She emerged, recreated and whole. His hatred had wounded her deeply But it could not extinguish her life: Hatred cannot overpower love, Nor can darkness be stronger than light. Tenacious and indestructable, She resumed living and loving again, Yet wiser, and less susceptbile To the vices of hard-hearted men.
