A Great Read
What a great fantastical story in The Hidden King by E.G. Radcliff. This is not only the first book in The Coming of Áed series, but also the first book of this author's that I have read. There are secrets surrounding this "fae" story, including truth, and fate. Aed is a young man who ist trying to keep his family together, and there are haunting memories that just won't surface, yet. The reader follows Aed on his journey of survival, despair, tragedy, and a lot of obstacles. He wants to live a new life, rebuild his life, but ... there is always something, someone in his way. The characters were very realistic, and definitely more than just one note. It's a character-driven story that any fantasy lovers would enjoy, even those who are not just young adults, but young at heart as well. This author is a great storyteller. Who could ask for more when it's filled with magic, fantastical journeys, and things that stand in the way of survival? Nothing is ever as it seems, and this is a very entertaining read. Action-packed and it takes the reader on a superb adventure. This read is so engrossing that it brings you right in the middle of the story. The Hidden King is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review.
