Tracy R. Powell's title "The Journey to Authorship: A Pocket Guide for Writers" came in at number 11 in the Best Indie Books Title of 2017.

Bio:

Dr. Tracy Mack Powell is an internationally known, award winning CEO, Speaker and Executive Coach. As an Executive Coach, Dr. Powell specializes in "all things new". Her professional experience ranges from coaching and teaching leadership skills within both the private and public sectors as well as within the federal government. Her career interests are centered around individual and organizational coaching, leadership, human development, socialization, managing and overcoming life challenges.

She is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Masters in Social Work and a Doctor of Philosophy. She is a federally Certified Mediator.

In 2012, Dr. Powell opened her own consulting firm, Synergetic Solutions, LLC, the platform for Practical Leadership. Dr. Powell has several years of experience working to enhance various outcomes for individuals and organizations. Dr. Powell is domestically and internationally known for outstanding ability to coach executive leaders and speak on topics to include but are not limited: Managing and Coaching in virtual world, Leading with Success, The Importance of Coaching and Mentoring, Leading Generation X and Y.

Dr. Powell served as Senior Policy Adviser to Dr. Regina M. Benjamin (Former U.S. Surgeon General, appointed by the Obama Administration). In this role, she assisted the Surgeon General to develop and implement strategies to promote and implement the National Prevention Strategy. Locally, Dr. Powell worked with Little Creation Learning Center to develop a strategic plan to increase revenue. Though Dr. Powell’s leadership and coaching, the Center has doubled in its capacity to provide a safe learning environment for children in the 4K Program

Additionally, the Center's after school-tutoring program has increased by over 50% requiring the Center to secure a larger building. Working with political candidates, Dr. Powell was able to build a strategy to increase the candidates’ reach in the African American community, resulting in a win. Dr. Powell’s success with organizational leaders goes on and on.

Life is a journey with many hills, valleys and endless possibilities.

What advice can you give to other authors? Always write from a place of passion and integrity. Writing and publishing is not about book sales, rather it is about legacy. Keep writing, it changes lives.
