Leibster Blog Award - for me!

I was nominated by fellow indie author, Stephanie Barr for the Leibster Blog Award.

I did a little research on this and it ends up being a chain of nominations, but it also helps bloggers gain more readership and recognition. I will do whatever I can to help other Indie Authors/Bloggers such as my self, and if I can do that with a few key strokes, all the better.

I'll be adding bloggers and their links at the end of this post, so please check them out and subscribe if you are so inclined, and if you haven't yet, feel free to subscribe to my blog. I promote my own work, such as my recent book "The Relic: A Savvy Macavoy Story"

but have others to choose from as well. My stories "Contrary Measures"

are ALWAYS 99 cents on amazon (and they're full length stories, too).

Now, on with the nomination continuation ...

The questions (copied from Stephanie Barr, who copied them from J. I Rogers

1. What do you feel is the best blog post you’ve written to date and why?

I believe that my best blog post is always the one I just wrote, as I hope that every time I write, I get better. It's my goal with everything that I write. Whether it's my stories or blog posts, I like to share what I write, as well as the growth of my writing. I'm currently running a series of posts called first of firsts #firstoffirst which is running the first chapter of the first book in a series.

2. If you had to choose one of your current projects to tell a group of strangers about, what would it be?

I haven written many stories, some are stand alone books all by themselves, and others are also stand alone stories but part of a larger series. Then, I have my MOD Life Epic saga, and it grew from one book, then three, and now there are 65 stories (not including the bonus series) within the saga, and that's why it's now an Epic Saga. I write it because even when I walk away from it, write other things, I always come back to it and its characters.

3. Who in your life (living or dead) provided you with the best inspiration?

I'd say my biggest influence was my mother. She was a wonderful mother, very strong and determined, but yet, she didn't always believe she was all of those things. She raised five children, without a lot of support from her husband, and she also helped other people with their children, such as child care, and teaching the young parent how to care and bond with their child. Mom loved to write as well, she kept a journal and a diary, and wrote a "never ending" story long hand, in notebook after notebook, and she would read what she wrote to the four of us girls (there were four girls and my brother). I don't know how she found the time to write, but she did. She also loved to write long letters to her friends and relatives. She died over 21 years ago, but she's still with me, and is my inspiration. 4. What book would you recommend that everyone read?

I think everyone at least once, should read a classic book. I love picking up a Shakespeare book, such as my favorite MacBeth, but I believe that everyone should know how to read, and if they don't, learn. Reading takes you places you'd never dream of going. It's the writers who dream it for you and then share it with you. I love Shakespeare, Twain (most of his writings), and Whitman. If you have read "Leaves of Grass," you should.

5. What is your favorite movie?

I love action and adventure movies (especially the Lethal Weapon franchise, or Beverly Hills Cop), some chick-flicks (First Wives Club), old black and whites (Desk Set), and a lot of 80's movies (The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Ghostbusters) (can't help it), but my all time favorite movie is Stalag 17, a black and white movie released in 1953 about POWs during WWII.

6. Hypothetical: You’re a well-paid guinea-pig being abandoned on a remote tropical island for an extended period (several years). You have ample food supplies, shelter (even indoor plumbing), electricity, and a decent computer… but the internet is nonexistent, and you will have no human contact. One of the scientists takes pity on you and will leave you an external drive with movies, TV/Netflix series, games, and books on it, but the catch is it can only be one genre. Which genre would you choose?

Science Fiction (I love Star Trek and its franchises, big Star Trek TNG fan!)

7. Cat, dog, or other?

Cat. I have a cat, who is very tempermental (aren't they all?) but one day, when I can, I'd like to get a dog, a small one. My son Louis says I should get one of those that fit in my purse (I carry a really big purse, needs to house my current paperback, my kindle, a bunch of necessities, and at least one or two notebooks). We also have a dwarf robo hamster, named "Faith", (she had sisters "Joy" and "Happy" but they lived out their life). Faith is still going on her second year.

8. When you’re being creative, do you prefer quiet or some form of sound (music, audiobook…) in the background?

Music must be playing, and I love all types of music, so the music influences my mood and what and how I should write. I often have more than one writing project at a time, so whatever inspires me, if it's Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra, Bach or Beethoven, or even Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson or Train, I write what's in me. I've also been inspired (and I told them, too) by the Indie Band "Enation".

9. What can move you more, images or words?

Words. Words move me, and sometimes it's not what's said or written, but what's not said or written. i see the words in my head so I know how to write something. I am also a very visual person, so when you tell me a story, or share an experience, I visualize it. (Not always a good thing).

10. If you could be assured of accomplishing one thing with your life, what would be your magnum opus?

My boys (I have four boys, well, now grown) would live fulfilling, happy lives.

11. What is your favorite color?

Black, red, purple. (I can never pick just one, and that goes for almost everything in my life).

Nominate other bloggers as well ...

Though I've mentioned it before, I'll also nominated Stephanie Barr

and other authors as well ...

And here is the link to the official rules (which I had to search for, so I hope it's the real deal).
