There is that old adage that Patience is a virtue, and it's especially true with writing. Writers, both experienced and new, write their story and then are excited about it. Some get so anxious about sharing it, that they don't step back and take a breath.
When writing, writing anything, after the first draft is written, it is still not done. It takes a lot of work from the author to go through many drafts before its even read by another pair of eyes. Yes, writing needs another pair of eyes. The other pair of eyes depends on what the author is looking for in feedback, proofreading, and editing. This is not when the author sends out a book to be reviewed.
There can be an essence of impatience, but if the writer wants to show the world the writing product, it should be in the best form possible. Each part takes time and patience, and there will be a reward, even if it is just from the author, feeling accomplished that the work is the best product of their own mind.
Patience. It just takes a little patience. When the author is in the process of being patient and working on their product, they can also look to promote or market it, and make big deals out of cover reveals, release days. There is a lot of marketing and promotion involved, but again, patience is required. When the work is ready, seek out "beta" readers (you can trust) and reviewers who review within the GENRE.
