For Tonya
(This is dedicated to the memory of my cousin, Tonya)
As life fades, the spirit transforms into the light,
swaying in the wind, up gently above the trees
the light encompasses the atmosphere,
flying high, into the clouds,
as they marbalize the sky, streaming
light of pink, blue and hints of gray
Raindrops burst from the clouds
drowning down on the earth
feeling the sadness
flying above and spreading the light
cascading into the heavens
dripping down around the universe
flowing freely
flowing, gracefully into the memories
the thoughts of the past
the drowning emotions of the present
