Readers, I'm sure you've heard this before, but if you read a book, liked it, disliked it, write a review. If you have Kindle, you're reminded to write a review. Many books read in other formats, or on a Kindle app, paperback, other digital books, you probably may not think about writing a review. You just have to write a review where you bought your book, and if you bought it in a book store, find where it may be listed.
Reviews are the baseline for many marketing plans and promotions. Also, another thing to think about is that this is the progressive digital age. Your author may have a website or blog. They may be listed on BookBub, or Flipboard, Open Road Media, or even on Wattpad. If they have a social media prescence, take a look (usually this information is on their primary website) and then follow them, or like their pages. Social media allows us to do one thing that we couldn't do as readers before the "digital age," which is connect with authors. Connect with them around the world. Now, we may not get responses or we may get a response from one of their assistance, but it's a connection, nonetheless.
This works with any author, Indie or Traditional, or extremely famous because they have a "gazillion" true best sellers under their pen. Most likely than not, there are a few of their books that haven't sold as well as some, but any book is worth reading, and any great book is worth finishing.
I've been writing about Banned Books, and will be adding to my list of banned books, I guess it's one of my new causes, and I do feel pretty passionate about it. So, maybe your favorite author has one of those books, and you might just want to read it. Heck, if someone tells me NOT to read a book, I'm going to read it.
I will be doing my reviews and working on ways that I can get the word out there. It's not just classical books from centuries ago. It's now. Our world now is still banning books because they don't like something in it. Most of the time, they didn't read it, just saw the title. Look for my recommendations, and also, support your favorite authors and write a review.
Thank you.
