Amy's Bookshelf Reviews: 2018 Year in Review

Another year has come and gone, and Amy's Bookshelf Reviews is wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year. If you're a writer, then, write, write, write, and when you finish, I'd be honored to read and review your work.

Some know how important reviews are, but some don't realize that a review on other places is also a form of promotion. I do my best to share the reviews so others will want to read your story, and help promote your work, whether you are new to this or have experience.

Before we bring on 2019, I'd like to share with you, Amy's Bookshelf Reviews 2018.

Just a note that the top 10 or top 20 is NOT the same as contest or awards posted on my author blog.

This past year I've also did a promotion called #flashbackreviews where I would post reviews on Fridays of past reviews (done prior to 2018). This was to bring attention to books again that may need a little promotion.

This year, I've made some policy changes. First, I had to implement the "Waiting List" again, and this year, I added it to my Bookshelf Page, so authors can see their title's position on the waiting list. In December, the waiting list changed to the "Stand-by" Shelf.

I've also increased the items that I review, so it's not just books (all types and formats), but also Indie Music, and other book-related items (or items related to writing).

I offer opportunities for authors to donate money which can dictate what shelf they wish for their title to jump to. This applies to both Stand-by (new requests) or Repeat authors. Stand-by requests can purchase an automatic place on the Primary Shelf (Top Shelf), a position on the "Standard" shelf of the VIP Bookshelf, or a position on the "PRIORITY" SHELF of the VIP Bookshelf. Donations are not required to get a book reviewed. See Request page for more details.

Donations over 30 dollars (whether it's to pay it forward, or to gain a position on another shelf), can receive a copy of my Profiler's set (Prowl and Preyfiler). See Welcome Page for more details.

Now, the slates will be wiped clean on January 1, and it's time for 2019. I am taking requests for Quick Response Reviews (Release date reviews) for 2019 and beyond ... but the request must be AT LEAST 60 days in advance. As anyone can see from my Bookshelves that are filled with great titles, I have a lot more reading and reviewing to do. New Requests can make a selection from the Stand-by Requests, and I'm running a new promotional program called "Rerun Reviews" where an author can request that a previously posted review get rerun again up to 2 times in 2019 for only a fee of $5.00. (Details under the Repeat Author's Category on my Request Page).

All of my policies and request forms are listed on my request page. (http://writeramyshannon.wixsite.com/bookshelfreviews/requests).

I've also added a Featured book of the month. This new page on my blog will feature books that are randomly selected from titles that were reviewed and posted the prior month. The page can be accessed at http://writeramyshannon.wixsite.com/bookshelfreviews/featured-bom (or under the Bookshelf Features navigation menu on my blog.

If you haven't yet, sign up for the newsletter, where you will get my reviews and any updated information sent right to your email as soon as its posted.

Thank you and Happy New Year from Amy's Bookshelf Reviews
