Just an update to the Banned books policy. The banned books, are books that are/were banned at some point. Challenged at some point (wanting to get the book banned), burned at some point (literally setting the books on fire to prove a "point") or controversial (a book that someone's opinion may not be very popular so the book is challenged or just removed from certain shelves).
I have heard directly from two authors who have had their book challenged and it was considered controversial or "didn't fit" within the area it had been posted. (One of these books was removed from a online bookstore because it had a Lesbian lead character.)
Anyway, if you've had a similar situation, I'd love to hear your story and read your book. If you want your story told, these book reviews aren't just posted on this website, but also on The Official Blog of Amy Shannon and ABSR Promotions: Banned, Burned, & Challenged Books website. The two other sites has the story and the review.
On the "Amy's Library" page, you can see the books I've bought to read and review because of their "situation." Some are classics, and some are modern. There is a donation button so I can continue to buy more books. I prefer to buy the paperback, but do buy the Kindle version when I have to. Today, I put a PDF download of all the banned, burned, challenged, and controversial books, so you can download the list, get the links to where to buy the book, and also know the genre of the book before buying. This is if you wish to read and review some of these books.
If you do read and review any of these books, I'd like to hear from you. I would also post your review on this and my other listed websites above.
Again, reading these books does not take away from the other books that are on my bookshelves, and I am posting as many as I can per week.
Thank you.
