Background:
Rewritten Life is the second book in the "Life" Series, which is in the Sars Springs Saga, which is part of the M.O.D Epic Saga written by Amy Shannon.
Rewritten Life was first written in 2005. The story takes place in Sars Springs, and it's been about two years from where Unwritten Life ended. It's had a few covers as well, but the current one displays a sky with the overlay of the desert (as Sars Springs is set right outside the Arizona desert, and all promos use this desert image).

Synopsis: Two years after Alex’s stalker was arrested, Alex tries to forget the past and finally commit herself to Jim. However, when an unexpected relative of Matthew’s shows up, the future of Solutions is at stake. Alex uses her relationship with Mark and Mike Dix to cover up a dark secret from her past, as her stalker escapes from prison.
Just as Alex is about to reveal her secret to Jim, their lives are turned upside down as she is kidnapped by a familiar face. Can Jim continue to be her hero?

So, what's this really about?
Alex and Jim are still together. Alex's stalker is in jail, but escapes. Jim has a new job, and is no longer Alex's assistant at Solutions, so she has to hire (a few) assistants. Tragedy hits them at all angles. A gunman takes over Solutions injuring and killing some employees. Alex is kidnapped, all the while a secret from her past is starting to emerge.
Note: This is one of my favorite books in the series.
What happens next?
Book Three in the series is the Prequel to Unwritten Life ("Unwritten Lives: Path to Destiny"), so it journeys Alex's path that she took from Pennsylvania to Sars Springs, including her stint in jail and first encounter with Walter. It also journeys Jim's path as he deals with the death of his friend, the ending of his marriage, and new career path, which leads him away from Arizona, and back again.
The fourth book in the series "Written Life: Past Meets Present", which picks up five years after Rewritten Life, ended.
