What's it about? "Unwritten Lives: Path to Destiny by Amy Shannon"


Background:

Unwritten Lives: Path to Destiny is the third book in the "Life" Series, which is in the Sars Springs Saga, which is part of the M.O.D Epic Saga written by Amy Shannon. It is also the PREQUEL to the story, and is best read AFTER Unwritten Life and Rewritten Life.

Unwritten Lives: Path to Destiny was first written in 2005. The story has two paths, one for Alexis (Alex) and the other for Jim. It journeys Alexis' stint in a Pennsylvanian county jail, her murder trial, and her path across the country until she ended up in Sars Springs. Jim's path follows his trek across the country and back again, dealing with personal loss and affirmation of himself.

If you haven't read the books that came before this one, this post may add a few spoilers so be cautious.

Synopsis:

Prequel to “Unwritten Life” Experience the two paths taken that brought them into each other’s arms. Alexis’ path begins with her on trial for murder. Live through Alexis’ ordeal as she flashes to memories of her and her first love, Matthew Garris. Experience her “cop fascination” as she makes her travels across country and transforms herself from Alexis Garris to Alex Garrison, where she finally meets her destined love.

Jim’s path begins with his searching for his perfect blonde, perfect woman, his destined angel. Jim’s path intercepts with Alexis Garris, but both are unknown to each other.

Experience Jim’s heartbreak at the loss of his father, along with the pain of losing his best friend, Matthew Garris, while he tries to discover where he wants his life to end up. Experience Jim’s side of the story as he met Alex Garrison.

So, what's this really about?

Alex's journey to Sars Springs. Her grief and memories of her and Matthew. Her encounter with Walter, and her relationships with Emily, John, and Jason. It even documents the past connections to Evan and Steven. Jim's path takes him on a quest for a new career, his relationships with his family, and the losses of his wife, father and friend. It even shows the couples "near misses" at meeting each other, and how they both ended up in Sars Springs, with a new job at the same company.

What happens next? Book four in the series is "Written Life: Past Meets Present", which picks up five years after Rewritten Life, ended.
